Occupational group life insurance
In addition to occupational pension, there is an occupational group life insurance that is usually given the acronym TGL. Your employer has taken out this insurance with us at Alecta or with another insurance company.
Occupational group life insurance is paid if you die before reaching retirement. A lump sum of SEK
256,800 is paid. This amount applies if you die between the age of 18 and 55. The amount decreases after that. If an occupational group life pension is to be paid after you reach the age of 65, you must still be employed.

According to the general beneficiary provision the money is paid in descending order to:
- spouse/registered partner
- children
- parents
If there is no one to whom the occupational group life insurance can be paid, only a half price base amount, SEK
21,400, is paid to the estate.
You decide
You can complete a beneficiary provision form and decide who should receive your money. For example, if you have a partner with whom you cohabit, you can make sure that she/he receives the money instead, by completing this form.

Spouse insurance
If your spouse dies, you and the family’s children can receive compensation from TGL through a so-called spouse insurance. This only applies if the deceased spouse does not have a TGL insurance and the family has children below the age of 17. Spouse insurance provides SEK
21,400 to the insured and SEK
42,800 to each child below the age of 17.
