» No reduced pricing for new customers to the ITP-plan

All new customers, defined as customers new to the ITP-plan after December 14, 2007 will not be entitled to the premium reduction announced by Alecta’s board of directors on December 4, 2007. The reduced premiums apply only for customers registered with Alecta on or prior to December 14, 2007.

The background to Alecta’s premium reductions is that Alecta’s return has outperformed the industry average by one percentage point per year over the last five years. Alecta also has the industry’s lowest costs. That is why we are now able to charge a lower premium.

Approximately 70,000 individuals have alternative ITP (pension for high wage earners) today. The premium reductions affect them as follows.

Alecta’s Board has decided that new customers will not be able to benefit from the previously decided 40 per cent premium reductions for defined benefit retirement and family pension during 2008.

Alecta’s Board decided today to introduce discounts on premiums for defined benefit pensions within the ITP Plan.
